Our results for the 2016/17 academic year were very positive in Key Stage 1. Whilst national and local authority averages have not yet been published for 2017, the Priory’s KS1 2017 results were higher than the national average and Merton local authority average for 2016. The Year 1 and Year 2 2017 phonics test results were also positive, again being higher than national and local averages.

The Key Stage 2 results were disappointing in terms of attainment for the combined reading, writing and maths which was below the national average. This was mainly due to lower than expected reading results and, to a lesser extent, our maths results. More positive were our writing results which were equal to the national average and our spelling, grammar and punctuation results which were above the national figures. In terms of children’s progress between KS1 to KS2, whilst in reading and maths progress was not as high as we had hoped; the school is still within government floor targets for progress. Throughout September the school will be putting new strategies in place to improve on these results for next year.
