At The Priory we have the following Home Learning:
KNOWLEDGE ORGANISERS -click here for the links
Every half term, there will be a new Knowledge Organiser for most subjects - providing information on that topic. These will be available on the school website. Revise and reinforce the facts, vocabulary and key skills that your child will be taught during the term, for each subject, at home. This provides a starting point for learning about the topic. Why not challenge your child further? Investigate and research the topic independently. Play games to remind your child what all the vocabulary words mean and how to spell them.
Every child should do reading daily at home, including reading independently, reading aloud to a parent and a parent reading with their child.
Spellings - are given out weekly and differentiated according to the level of the individual.
TIMES TABLES - J2BLAST
Times tables are part of the weekly Home Learning and are differentiated according to the year group and individual pupil. It is important to repeat and rehearse these regularly.
This covers all areas of mathematics and is personalised learning. It needs to be completed between 3-5 times a week, in order to move on quickly, due to the coverage of all areas in maths. It assesses the level of the individual child and will target areas that they need more support with, allowing the child to have 3 attempts at a question and supporting them to get an answer.
WRITING & CREATIVE PROJECTS
These are optional projects that are planned every half term and the children can then send them into school at the end of term, to celebrate them in the Home Learning Exhibition, which all parents and pupils are invited to join.
